Roots For Breakfast is a two-hour show from 8-10am (EDT) on Saturday mornings on WFHB Community Radio with a predominantly folk and Americana focus. I host the show on the 2nd Saturday of each month. While technically we play anything from classical to acid rock on WFHB, my shows tend to be heavily folk/contemporary singer/songwriter oriented, mixed with some jazz, blues and acoustic rock along with occasional poetry and performance pieces. I also program: Womenspace featuring music by women singer-songwriters and performers of all genres every other Thursday night from 9-11pm and the WFHB Tuesday Am Music Mix I: a two-hour free form acoustic mix show Tuesday mornings from 6-8am (ET) Due to station policy Cds mailed to me at the station tend not to find me unless I catch them coming in... As I program the show from home (I like to put together themes) the best way to get music to me is: Carolyn VandeWiele Womenspace/Tue Am Mix 732 W. Whitethorn Place, Bloomington, IN 47403 Please note that material sent to me elsewhere does not reliably reach me. And, of course, I'm not getting anything through the station at the moment. Started the show with Kitty Donohoe's "There Are No Words"... I did more of a tribute show on Womenspace Thursday night, this morning I leaned more towards helping and caring - the way it felt immediately after the attacks when everyone came together. Unfortunately that feeling has lost by so many these days... but it's still there in the music. - - - - - - Hour 1 - - - - - - [01] CLARK, JAN ALDRIDGE (L) / (15) "The Welcome Song" (4:30) Anything But Ordinary / Jan Aldridge Clark JAC01-03 (2004) Instrumental under and around the top of the hour, show intro [02] DONOHOE, KITTY (Va) / (03) "There Are No Words" (5:10) Inishfree: A Tribute To The Enchanted Way / Inishfree Tours (2015) [03] KAPLANSKY, LUCY / (06) "Land Of The Living" (4:04) The Red Thread / Red House Records (2004) [04] BIDNEY, ROBERT (Va) / (15) "We Can Do Better" (3:15) Folk Now: Songs For These Times (Aug. 2023) / Hudson Harding Music (2023) [05] CARPENTER, MARY CHAPIN / (09) "Grand Central Station" (4:14) One Night Lonely (Live) / Lambent Light Records LLR0041 (2021) [06] WILLIAMSON, CRIS & NEAR, HOLLY / (09) "We the People" (5:29) Cris & Holly / HC Records H&C6201 (2003) [07] RANKY TANK / (03) "Lift Me Up" (3:33) This Village / Ranky Tanky Inc.
